Happy Friday, friends! Anyone have anything special lined up this weekend? My plans are all on hold until we see how bad the snow storm gets tonight. D’s in Boston for news coverage and seeing ABC sent so many people for the blizzard, I realized maybe it really will be that bad. It’s giving me a perfect excuse to cozy up in my newly redesigned apartment (more to come soon on the insanely talented Francesco, owner of F.b. Home), start a few projects, and invite friends over to enjoy sweet treats and catch up.
Now, I’m letting you in on a secret for the most perfect gift for your honey this V-Day! The idea would be great year-round, but extra fitting for V-Day because can’t men be a bit tough to buy for this holiday?! Although V-Day is mostly geared toward us gals, I like getting D something special that I know he’ll truly enjoy. D is a big whiskey fan and even bigger history nerd (no really, come check out our book collection and DVR list) so I was thrilled to discover that not only does Kings County Distillery, NYC’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, have great whiskey and moonshine but also offers tours of their Brooklyn distillery. Don’t judge, but I was initially attracted to the awesome bottle the liquor comes in, which I’ve used many times to hold flowers for rustic-themed dinner parties, but also love the rich history of their brand. You’ll hit the V-Day jackpot for any whiskey lover if you tie a little note about the tour onto the bottle and then enjoy a glass together on Feb 14! Does anyone else have a great V-Day gift ideas for their honey?
Kings County makes handmade moonshine and bourbon out of the 113-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The distillery uses New York grain, traditional processes, and unorthodox distilling equipment to make their whiskey.

I can’t get over what an awesome gift this is. I totally want one for myself!
Thanks, Alyssa! You SHOULD! It’s the perfect way to toast 2/14.
LOVE the idea. I can never come up with anything good for V-Day and alcohol never fails to please!
Ha – so true, Jill! It’s usually my go-to as well for house parties, gifts, etc.
