Now that the whispers of fall are upon us, I decided to embrace the changing weather and start getting myself ready. Often, it seems that my husband and I decide to have friends over at the last minute, especially now that it’s football season, so it’s important that I have some easy, go-to drink recipes for our impromptu gatherings. I decided to make a list of a few autumn-inspired drinks for everyone to enjoy in the upcoming months. One recipe that has been a hit among my girlfriends is this Sparkling Apple Cider.
Sparkling Apple Cider:
6 cups apple cider
2 cups cranberry-apple juice (or you can use orange juice)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 750 milliliter bottle of sparkling white wine (or sparkling white grape juice)
Dash of cinnamon
Combine the apple cider, cranberry-apple juice, and lemon juice. Slowly add sparking wine and stir in a few dashes of cinnamon. Serve immediately, pouring into a glass with just a few ice cubes. Garnish with apple slice, if desired.
*To give the drink a sweet twist, rim the glass with agave syrup and crumbled gingersnap cookies.
